On the other hand,a handrail is a rail that runs along stairs,or walkways to provide support and guidance for people while ascending or descending.Handrails are primarily used for maintaining balance and preventing falls on elevated surfaces.They are commonly found in stairwells,corridor,staircases, ramps,and other areas with stairs or changes in elevation.Handrails are typically installed at a height of about 34 to 38 inches (86 to 97 cm) above the stairs or walking surface.They are designed to withstand the force exerted by a person's hand and are often made of materials like wood,metal,or plastic.
